Director of Finance, VTCSOM

Position Summary:
The Director of Finance provides leadership for the finance operations of the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine ( VTCSOM ) senior management area and its departments. Primary responsibilities of the position include management and analysis in support of resource allocation systems and providing financial oversight of all aspects of the fiscal operations of the VTCSOM departments.

Required Qualifications:
A master's degree, preferably in a related field such as public administration, business administration or accounting.
Advanced spreadsheet skills, including the manipulation of large data sets and the ability to analyze, summarize and present financial and narrative information clearly.
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and effective writing and communication skills.
Significant, successful experience in a financial management related position in higher education.
Knowledge of Virginia Tech financial and academic policies and procedures and their related enterprise systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate should be detail-oriented but with an ability to understand the college and university environment and contribute broadly to a variety of the college's goals and projects.
