Assistant Director for Greek Life and Student Orgs

Albion College invites applications for the Assistant Director for Greek Life and Student Organizations whom is a member of the Albion College Student Affairs staff and reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Program Development.  The Assistant Director is responsible for enhancing a comprehensive student development program within a residential campus consistent with the mission and goals of Albion College, the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Campus Programs and Organizations.  The Assistant Director must appreciate and support the liberal arts philosophy and education.  This includes demonstrating cultural competence and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

 

The Assistant Director will provide guidance and direction for and continuously improve Albion College’s twelve nationally associated social fraternities and sororities.    This individual will also provide administrative and program support for all recognized student organizations.  In addition, the Assistant Director will provide individual as well as group leadership development training for organizations and their members. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with supreme sensitivity and confidentiality. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g. higher education)
  • Previous experience in Greek Life including leadership and/or advisory role with fraternity or sorority organizations
  • National Greek office experience preferred
  • Current Membership in one of the following Greek organizations required: North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC), Fraternity Leadership Association (FLA), or National Asian Pacific American Panhellenic Association (NAPAPA) Greek Organization.
  • Knowledge about current fraternity and sorority systems, national/regional trends, policies, procedures, governance, organizational development and recruitment processes along with experience in co-curricular and leadership development programming.
  • Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills including the ability to deliver information and services in a timely manner
  • Training, team building, and leadership development skills
  • Ability to show sensitivity to the academic and personal needs of college students
