Temporary Laboratory Pool

Position Summary:
The Laboratory Pool opens on or about January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. It closes March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31. You are responsible for reapplying each quarter to ensure your application is active.
These emergency hire positions will be temporary hourly appointments providing routine laboratory work to support various departments on campus.
Duties and responsibilities vary based on departmental needs. They may include but are not limited to performing daily lab routines, ordering supplies, monitoring inventory, and maintaining equipment service records and contracts. Duties may also include feeding and watering animals, cleaning cages, maintain records of research, laboratory stocks, inventory, and purchasing.
Emergency Hire opportunities are limited to 130 calendar days of employment.

Required Qualifications:
Required qualifications may vary based on assignment. Candidates with the appropriate combination of experience and skills will be considered. Previous laboratory experience demonstrating ability to follow research protocol; ability to keep an experimental laboratory notebook as instructed; working knowledge of good laboratory practices, especially safety; must have strong organizational skills and the ability to interact comfortably and respectfully with all individuals in a diverse multicultural environment.
