Associate Head Coach ? Men?s & Women?s Swimming


This position is 35 hours per week, 48 weeks per year.

Tufts University is a member of the Division III National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). Tufts students participate in 20 varsity sports, as well as a number of intramural and club sports.

Tufts Athletics oversees the Physical Education Department, which offers various for-credit physical fitness courses, and the Personalized Performance Program for students, staff, and faculty. The department manages all athletics facilities including the state of the art Steve Tisch Sports and Fitness Center, which opened in 2012.

The Associate Head Coach serves as the Senior Assistant on the Swimming & Diving Staff supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of the intercollegiate Swimming & Diving program and operation of the Swimming & Diving Facility. The Associate Head Coach serves as the Lead Coach in the absence of the Head Coach. The Associate Head Coach supports the Head Coach in all activities related to the swimming & diving program including, but not limited to recruiting, coaching a particular specialty area, monitoring performance of student athletes and ensuring adherence to conference and university rules and guidelines. The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating Tufts Swim School for youth, equipment ordering and maintenance, alumni outreach, community service, fundraising and other areas in the department of athletics that could include teaching a Physical Education Course or Home Game Management. The selected coach should demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and conduct becoming of the coaching profession and adhere to all NESCAC and NCAA rules and regulations.



Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor s degree
College level coaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master s degree
Collegiate Head Coaching experience
