Job Summary

We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Counseling Psychologist


Provide counseling and psychological services for EWU students, including crisis intervention. Provide outreach and consultative services to the campus community. Supervise counselors in training. Engage in continuing education to improve clinical skills and attain/maintain licensure as a mental health professional. Depending on qualifications and experience, this position may coordinate and provide psychological testing services for students.

Conditions of Employment

  • Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Washington; if license-eligible, license must be achieved within two years of start date.



  • Some evening/weekend work should be expected, including outreach to students and crisis intervention.



  • This position is part of the PSE bargaining unit.



  • This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt or, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check for continued employment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Position requires a doctoral degree from an accredited program in either Counseling or Clinical Psychology, or equivalent.



  • Completion of an approved internship (APA preferred).



  • Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Washington; if license-eligible, license must be achieved within two years of start date.



  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.




Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in one or more of the following areas:



  • Providing psychological testing and assessment services for adults (for learning disorders, ADHD, etc.).

  • Providing counseling group facilitation.

  • Providing clinical supervision of counseling practicum students.

  • Providing crisis intervention services.

  • Providing outreach programming in areas benefitting a university population.
