Position Summary:
The Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences is seeking an Office Assistant to provide office and bookkeeping support to the undergraduate Central Advising Office and administrative support for the teaching, research, and extension programs for several faculty members. This includes performing a wide variety of general office duties such as filing student records, receiving and sending packages, preparing teaching materials, processing invoices and travel reimbursements, and arranging Foundation and University deposits. The successful candidate will assist faculty with conference planning and scheduling and will serve as the key operator for the departmental copier.

Required Qualifications:
Experience in support of the operation of a professional office environment; Knowledge and expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite; Strong, effective communication skills with a diverse clientele base; Experience working cooperatively with co-workers and the general public.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with VT Foundation procedures, Banner, Hokie Spa, and DARS ; Knowledge of University travel and HokieMart procedures and systems.
