Assistant Professor, Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Wheaton College (MA) invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in Cultural Psychology, beginning in the Fall of 2018.

We provide our students with an educational experience that affords them the opportunity to explore their interests in the field in a supportive environment that cultivates curiosity, passion, and career aspirations. Offering courses and research opportunities in cultural psychology to students is in-line with the College s emphasis on social justice, multicultural competence, and informed global citizenry.

The successful candidate will be qualified to teach Cross-Cultural Psychology, Introductory to Psychology, Quantitative Research Methods, and a 300-level cultural psychology course. Additional courses may include: Multicultural Psychology, Laboratory in Qualitative Inquiry, and Psychology of Women.

Our department and the College provide a supportive context for the development of new colleagues. For example, we regularly offer faculty forums on teaching, learning, and diversity, and tenure-track faculty may be entitled to a paid pre-tenure sabbatical. Research funds to support scholarship are also available.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Psychology as of the Fall 2018 term.
