Advanced Manufacturing with Smart Systems - Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Old Dominion University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Advanced Manufacturing, emphasizing smart systems embedded with actuation, sensing, and computing, at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Candidates should have a focus on the use of advanced manufacturing strategies for the development of novel smart systems with features of adaptability and autonomy.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
The successful candidate will be expected to teach core undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of mechanical/aerospace engineering related to their discipline, as well as to develop an externally funded research program. In addition, candidates are expected to contribute to the existing research and service activities in the MAE Department and to establish collaborations with government agencies, industry, other departments at Old Dominion University, and with other universities.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related engineering field. At the Associate Professor level, substantial post-doctoral experience, either in academia, research, or industry is expected.
