Data Analytics Analyst - Tufts Technology Services

As a member of the Data and Analytic Services team, the Data Analytics Analyst will actively participate and may lead key data and reporting initiatives, including end to end ownership for data visualization solutions. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of data visualization, business analysis and project management experience. This highly visible position will need to communicate and translate data and business concepts to a broad audience including senior university leadership.

This position will use knowledge of Tableau or other leading visualization software to build interactive visual applications and to provide analysis and research to support the university. In addition, s/he will work with data sources from disparate systems assuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards.


Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, CS or similar discipline and 3-5 years of related experience.
  • 1 - 3 years experience building and deploying data visualization projects.
  • Experience with Tableau or other leading data visualization tool.
  • Experience in using analytic tools such as Excel and statistical packages.
  • Understanding of complex stored procedures, views, data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries, and database design.
  • Experience in requirement gathering and documentation.
  • Strong documentation and training skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented, and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Possess maturity in judgment, creativity and ability to get along with widely diverse personalities.
  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the Hadoop architecture.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Oracle and Business Objects.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Knowledge of Python or R.
  • Master s degree.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Occasional evening or weekend work, as well as the ability to participate in a 24x7 on call rotation for major incident support activities.
