Overview

The Princeton Neuroscience Institute has a Research Specialist I position available with Professor Ilana Witten.

The successful applicant will be an energetic, self-directed learner with a strong background with optogenetics or electrophysiology, previous research experience in neuroscience, and ideally familiarity with Matlab or Python.

Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled. This is a one-year term position with the possibility of renewal based on funding and satisfactory performance.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities include training mice and rats on operant tasks, performing optogenetic experiments, and histological analysis of brain tissue. The possibility of contributing to cellular-resolution imaging experiments exists as well. The research specialist will collaborate with graduate students or postdoctoral research fellows in the lab on various projects related to the neural circuits underlying reward-related behaviors.

Qualifications

A bachelors degree or equivalent in neuroscience, psychology or related field is required. Research experience involving neuroscience methods is preferred.
