Assistant Professor in Residence, Psychological Sciences, UConn Hartford


The Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Connecticut in Storrs seeks to fill a full-time faculty position at the Hartford Campus. This position is for a non-tenure track "In-Residence" faculty, which may lead to long-term multi-year contracts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will teach seven undergraduate courses per academic year, or the equivalent. Other potential responsibilities include advising undergraduate majors and outreach activities for the Psychological Sciences Department at the Hartford Campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field conferred by August 22, 2018, a commitment to excellence in teaching, and experience mentoring undergraduate students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include the ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience, background in research methods, teaching expertise that complements that of current faculty, evidence of an interest in continuing previous research activity, and experience and interest in working with diverse communities within an urban campus setting.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track position at the Hartford Campus which may lead to long-term multi-year contracts. This position has an anticipated start date of August 23, 2018. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
