Alternative Transportation (Transportation Network) Manager

Position Summary:
The Manager of Alternative Transportation develops, promotes, and implements transit and alternative transportation projects and programs for the university to include, bicycle, pedestrian, and car/van pools. The manager serves as the university's primary contact for alternative transportation issues and supervises staff that support alternative transportation programs. The position reports to the Director of Parking and Transportation and works closely with the Department of Parking and Transportation, the Department of University Planning, and university constituent groups involved with, or who have a specific interest in transit and alternative transportation. In working with departments and groups, the manager ensures the university's transit and alternative transportation program operations integrate with the overall university mission and goals, and meets the needs of the university constituents. Provides reporting and data analyses to senior management. Coordinate campus notices, news stories and special features for alternative transportation as well as other Parking and Transportation units for review by the division communication manager.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in transportation planning, urban planning, environmental studies, or related field or a combination of education and related experience equivalent to a degree.
- Demonstrated program management experience.
- Experience developing educational and promotional materials and delivering educational programs.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and summarizing data in a variety of formats.
- Extensive computer experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to direct the work of others.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to complete numerous projects and details simultaneously and accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in transportation planning, urban planning, environmental studies, or related field or a combination of education and related experience equivalent to an advanced degree.
-Demonstrated program management experience in transit or alternative transportation programs.
- Experience working as liaison with transit providers in a university or similar setting
- Experience working in university setting
- Experience developing educational and promotional materials and delivering educational programs related to alternative transportation.
- Experience preparing press releases.
- Working knowledge at the proficient level of GIS software, including ArcGIS, to record and analyze data, and make useful maps.
- Experience developing bicycle programs.
- Experience working with advocacy constituents.
