This position serves as the University leader for Strome Entrepreneurial Centers ( SEC )'s programs, support, and outreach for entrepreneurship and commercialization. The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for advancing entrepreneurial activities and success across all audiences, including ODU students, faculty/staff, alumni, and the Hampton Roads community. The ED leads the University's strategic planning and implementation for entrepreneurship and commercialization. The ED oversees the University's Centers and programming that support entrepreneurship, building upon the ODU Strome brand. The ED collaborates internally with Academic Affairs, all Deans, and other ODU entities - and partners externally with related programs - to expand education and support for entrepreneurs. The ED oversees the ODU "opportunity triage" process, in partnership with other areas, for reviewing and managing opportunities. The ED leads and oversees the system for individual entrepreneur coaching and mentoring.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in business, entrepreneurship, or related field from an accredited institution. Extensive years of executive experience in leading and managing programs related to entrepreneurship, and/or leading an entrepreneurial/new enterprise, and or experience with academic tech transfer programs. Demonstrated record of experience and success in the entrepreneurial environment, especially in multiple settings. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all audiences, ranging from students, to faculty/staff, to the community. Ability to assess opportunities and support development through education, resources, networking, and coaching. Knowledge of entrepreneurship and commercialization as an enterprise founder, investor, coach/advisor. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
