Associate Director of Employer Programs and Development

This position will develop a recruiting plan and actively recruits new employers to ODU . Other duties include: manages relationships with existing employers for the purpose of hiring ODU students and alumni for experiential and professional opportunities; has direct oversight and responsibility for employer programs in all six (6) colleges; oversees Careers4Monarchs employer vetting/job posting, the On-Campus Recruitment Program, employer recruitment and partnerships, and planning, marketing, logistics, and coordinates career/job fairs, symposiums and special events; manages customer services functions, supervising staff at the CDS front desk; plans and coordinates professional seminars, workshops, and employer information sessions; oversees programs and activities of Student Employment Program and supervises budgets for Federal Work Study and LEAP programs; supervises two classified employees, and seven or more student workers and interns; manages relevant data collection and coordinates training for students, staff and senior staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field. A bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field and work experience equivalent to a master's degree in a similar field may be substituted. Considerable experience with corporate relations and job development. Experience with office management, supervision of staff, customer service, and career counseling with college or adult clients. Excellent knowledge of employer relations, job placement and internship management, job search and career advising, program management, writing and presentation skills, supervision, and teamwork. Demonstrated ability to effectively and fairly supervise subordinates and to delegate tasks and meet deadlines and to provide outstanding customer service.
