Assistant Professor of Digital Media


Brief Summary:

The Department of Art & Digital Media at Marist College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Digital Media to begin Fall 2018. The department offers four undergraduate degrees in Digital Media, Studio Art, and Art History. The Department will return to a newly renovated and expanded Steel Plant Studios in 2018, which includes networked Digital Media labs, a Makerspace lab, Drawing, Painting, 2D, 3D, Printmaking studios, and Art History classrooms. Please note committee members will be present at the CAA in LA.


Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach a 3-4 course load in undergraduate Digital Media courses including our foundation Introduction to Digital Media course and specialized courses. Specialties of interest include Digital Photography, Video, Multimedia, Web and Graphic Design, Sequential art and Digital Illustration, and Game Art. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to departmental programming, assessment, curriculum development, hold office hours, advise students, and serve on department and college level committees. The candidate will also be expected to keep an ongoing record of professional and scholarly activity.


Qualifications:

Terminal degree in fine art, digital media or related field is required. Three years teaching experience in Digital Media related courses at the undergraduate level and/or equivalent professional experience preferred. Applicants must demonstrate strong teaching skills. Ideal candidates will have both academic qualifications and professional experience.
