Duties and Responsibilities
Loyola University Chicago s Institute of Environmental Sustainability ( IES ) invites applications for a full- time faculty teaching position, at the rank of Lecturer beginning in August 2018. We are seeking a candidate with expertise in Environmental Health to support our Bachelor of Science programs in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, and our 5-year dual degree program with the MPH (for program details see https://luc.edu/sustainability/academics/undergraduateprograms/bsinenvironmentalsciencepublichealth/). The IES Environmental Health Program is offered in close collaboration with the Department of Public Health Sciences at Loyola University Chicago s Stritch School of Medicine (see https://ssom.luc.edu/mph/).

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 300-level courses in Environmental Health, Intro to Public Health, and Intro to Epidemiology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop additional upper-level courses in their area of specialization; related courses needed in IES include ecotoxicology, bioremediation, and/or Geographic Information Systems ( GIS ). In addition, the candidate will teach introductory environmental science for both majors and non-majors. Candidates must have demonstrated success working with diverse populations of students and should have experience teaching undergraduate courses as the instructor of record.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Public Health or Environmental Health from an accredited School of Public Health, and undergraduate and/or Master s degrees in ecology, environmental science, ecotoxicology or closely related fields are desired. Preferred areas of expertise include but are not limited to, environmental toxin impacts on human health, climate change-driven emerging infectious diseases, pesticides in the food system, effects of climate change on human health, food and water supply and climate refugees.
