EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

Harper College is seeking applicants for the Executive Director of Communications position. As a member of the College's Leadership Team, the Executive Director is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with local, state and federal public officials. Duties include community engagement, communications and legislative affairs with a focus on developing external relationship with key organizations, legislative, media and individuals to foster and build awareness in Harper’s communities. The successful candidate will strategically develop cross channel communication plans, represent Harper College in all areas of legislative affairs and improve community and statewide contacts.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism, education, communications, or related subjects required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in community collaborations and strategic communications, preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in community relations, legislative relations or related area, preferably in higher education.
