Donor Stewardship Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Donor Stewardship Coordinator is a member of the Donor Relations team in the Advancement Division, reporting to the Associate Director of Donor Relations. The Donor Stewardship Coordinator provides strategic stewardship with our donors, deepening relationships with the institution. He or she creates and utilizes queries to retrieve information from our database. This team member tracks and maintains extensive information for recognition in Virginia Tech's giving societies, analyzes gift data for acknowledgments and donor market segmenting, and provides support for our prospect management team. He or she will maintain a small portfolio of stewardship prospects. The Donor Stewardship Coordinator is a liaison with the Offices of Financial Aid and Scholarships, and Gift Accounting for donors. He/she writes correspondence from various levels of administration to individual donors. In addition, he or she will create and implement processes to report gift impact to various segmented audiences. This employee will serve as a vital member of the Donor Relations team in creating a best-in-class program.

Required Qualifications:
-Demonstrated experience working in professions such as public relations, communications, alumni relations, special events or related field.
-Experience drafting and writing business correspondence.
-Proficiency utilizing office software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
-Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills for positive internal and external communications and interactions.
-Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in communication or public relations or equivalent experience in donor relations, alumni relations, annual fund fundraising, special events or related field.
-Demonstrated experience using large relational databases, such as Blackbaud CRM .
-Demonstrated experience with recognition programs.
-Demonstrated competency in graphic design and/or desktop publishing software such as InDesign and Photoshop.
-Ability to understand the multiple avenues in which gifts may be made to a public institution.
