Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics


Brief Summary:

Marist College invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics to join the School of Management beginning fall 2018. Marist College is a highly selective comprehensive private institution founded in the liberal arts noted for its leadership in the use of technology in and out of the classroom. Founded in 1929, Marist overlooks the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie, New York, 75 miles north of New York City. Marist enrolls approximately 4,800 traditional undergraduate, 800 full and part- time graduate and 600 continuing education students. The School of Management enrolls approximately 1,300 undergraduate students in its B.S. in Accounting, B.S. in Business Administration, and B.A. in Economics programs, and 400 master-level students in its MBA and MPA programs, including a new Master of Science in Professional Accountancy program. Marist also has a branch campus in Florence, Italy. Marist has been recognized for excellence by U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg Businessweek, Accounting.com, Time magazine, The Princeton Review, and Barron's Best Buys in College Education and is noted for being a pioneer in the area of online degree programs.


Duties and Responsibilities:

This tenure track position will involve teaching, research and service. Applicants should have earned a doctorate in Economics, or an anticipated completion date during the fall of 2018.


Qualifications:

Candidates must have a commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate courses in introductory economics and upper-level electives in the candidate's areas of expertise. Research interest in disciplines of behavioral economics, game theory, industrial organization, law and economics, political economy, or other emerging fields in economics is a plus.
