Assistant/Associate Director Alumni Relations - The Fletcher School

This job will be an Assistant Director or Associate Director depending on the experience of the candidate.

Tufts University Advancement currently has an Alumni Relations position open at the Fletcher School. We are looking for a person to implement strategies to engage, involve and continue lifelong learning for Fletcher s Alumni. This position will provide direction for alumni clubs around the world and work to expand volunteer engagement opportunities. This position will also participate in trips in conjunction with the Office of Career Services and collaborate with the Admissions Office to increase alumni contact with potential students. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years of experience in alumni relations, donor relations, development or other relevant experience.

The Fletcher School, as the oldest exclusively graduate school of international affairs in the United States, continues to meet the demands of a world in which the only constant is change. The primary aim of The Fletcher School is the same as it was when conceived by its founders: to offer a broad program of professional education in international relations to a select group of graduate students committed to maintaining the stability and prosperity of a complex, challenging and increasingly global society.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • BA/BS.
  • Microsoft Office (Word Excel).
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and experience presenting to a wide range of audiences in various formats.
  • Must have superior writing and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, training and support of volunteers is essential.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, or experience in fundraising is required.
  • Must have strong customer service skills and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of a second language and/or study or experience living abroad is highly desirable.
  • Complex database experience (Advance, Razor s Edge, Millenium, Access, etc.) is strongly preferred as is comfort with web applications/CMS skills.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Weekend and evening hours will be required for events. Domestic travel averaging 2-3 days per trip each semester, as well as international travel lasting up to 10 days twice a year. Additional travel may be necessary.
