Administrative and Technical Associate

Position Summary:
Provide technical and fiscal support for VCE field faculty, responsible for one or more units in accordance with approved policies and procedures. Primary duties include verifying the accuracy of financial transactions in relationship to the budgets and assisting the District Director in developing regular financial reports; ensuring compliance with VT and VCE policies and guidelines; use Quicken and other accounting applications for reconciliation and reporting; responsible for technical support regarding event registration/payment system, HokieMart (payment processing); updating content of websites utilizing Content Management System templates, and utilizing social media programmatically; provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Required Qualifications:
BS degree in accounting, business or applicable discipline. Experience in performing financial responsibilities maintaining and reconciling, accurately, ledgers of accounts; strong communication skills and experience interacting effectively with diverse groups; demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft applications, database management, electronic spreadsheets, as well as working with social media and websites; experience in prioritizing tasks and working independently while performing multiple tasks. Experience or the capacity to learn, update and maintain new software/applications quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, experience with Excel database, Banner, HokieMart, Quicken and basic understanding of the Commonwealth of Virginia accounting guidelines; experience/knowledge in budgets and reporting; excellent customer service and communication skills.
