Tenure Track Electrical & Computer Engineering

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Bucknell University invites candidates to apply for an open-rank, tenure-track faculty position situated towards the computer engineering end of the electrical-computer engineering spectrum. We are looking for an engaged and passionate colleague who is willing to collaborate in guiding our program in new directions, create exciting new learning opportunities for undergraduate students, and who seeks impact through their scholarship. Bucknell University, an Equal Opportunity Employer, believes that students learn best in a diverse, inclusive community and is therefore committed to academic excellence through diversity in its faculty, staff, and students. We seek candidates who are committed to Bucknell's efforts to create a climate that fosters the growth and development of a diverse student body, and we encourage applications from members of groups that have been historically underrepresented in higher education, particularly engineering.

Bucknell values teaching, scholarship, and service in that order but recognizes that these may take many forms. We encourage applications from candidates with a range of experiences. To help us understand you and your background please include in your application:

(1) A Bucknell-specific cover letter describing your interest in the position and how your background, passion, and experiences can contribute to improving our community.

(2) A one to two page description of your philosophy of student learning outlining how you plan to support students' growth and intellectual development and help create a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

(3) A one to two page outline of your scholarly interests describing how you could engage undergraduate students and apply these interests in socially relevant contexts.

(4) In one page or less describe your aspirations for service to your university, your discipline, the local community, or society.

(5) A current CV.

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in computer or electrical engineering or a closely related field by the start of the appointment at Bucknell. Review of applications will begin on October 15th and continue until the position is filled. All materials must be submitted online through Bucknell's career site.
