Description:

The Department of Clinical Health Professions of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at St. John's University invites applications from highly motivated, creative and dedicated candidates for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in the area of Internal Medicine (possible sub-specialties include: Infectious Disease and Family Medicine) to precept Doctor of Pharmacy students at an affiliated premier hospital. The position is a 12-month (calendar-year), tenure-track faculty appointment, fully funded by the University. Candidates must possess a doctor of pharmacy degree, have postgraduate residency training (PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency) and be eligible for New York State Pharmacy licensure. The successful candidate will become a faculty member of the innovative and dynamic Department of Clinical Health Professions, an interprofessional department consisting of clinical faculty that teach in the doctor of pharmacy, physician assistant, radiological sciences and clinical laboratory sciences programs of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Requirements:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited School/College of Pharmacy in the U.S.
  • Postgraduate residency training (PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency)
  • Licensed or eligible for New York State Pharmacy Licensure
  • Preferred Board Certification
  • Preferred teaching experience in higher education and/or teaching certificate
  • Evidence of commitment to scholarship
  • Excellent communication skills
