Web Engagement Manager

Position Summary:
The Web Engagement Manager for the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost plans, designs, implements, and maintains the components of various websites and digital communication platforms, including the Provost's Office main website and associated webpages, social media accounts, visual and audio assets, and other online stakeholder engagement resources. Projects and responsibilities can vary from website/webpage development and design to formatting of editorial content for web communication to mobile applications and email strategy and outreach. As a key member of the Provost's Office communication team, the Web Engagement Manager works closely with the Associate Vice Provost for Communication as well as faculty and administrators to communicate effective and timely information related to academic, research, programmatic, stakeholder engagement, and university-level strategic initiatives. This position requires a strategic thinker who can contribute creative skill and experience to a multidisciplinary, comprehensive, and continually evolving communications infrastructure.
The Web Engagement Manager assumes the lead role in managing additions and maintenance of websites via the University's content management system, and is required to have significant working knowledge of HTML , CSS , PHP , and other technologies. The ability to work in/with groups to properly structure new sites or redesign existing sites to be more logical, user friendly, and professional is critical. Managing information architecture, hierarchy, navigation and interface design; ensuring compliance with University branding guidelines and procedures; and tracking, interpreting, and reporting on web traffic and analytics data is also critical.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in web design, web development, information technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and training.
- Demonstrated experience in web development and design.
- Experience creating, updating, and maintaining content on several websites simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience with content management systems.
- Demonstrated experience with website design programming languages such as PHP , HTML , CSS , Javascript, JQUERY , SQL .
- Experience with a variety of computer software applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML , and XML .
- Experience with Google Analytics and various social media analytics resources.
- Record of managing multiple priorities and functioning as part of a team.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exercise good judgment; solve problems promptly, effectively, and creatively.
- Act in a professional manner as a representative of the University.
- Project a consistently professional and positive image to coworkers, the campus, community, and all internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in web design, web development, information technology or related field or equivalent combination of professional experiences.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of UX best practices and strategies.
- Experience working with Ensemble, WordPress, and Drupal content management systems.
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated experience designing creative web user interfaces.
- Experience collaborating with freelance teams and overseeing work both internally and externally.
