Position Summary:
Provides administrative and clerical support to the Undergraduate Program to ensure Sociology in-major students are in progress toward their degree and to foresee any problems that may occur. This position is responsible for preparing student files, working with departmental listservs, assisting with course scheduling, typing letters, course materials, and other documents for departmental faculty, and serving as departmental receptionist.

Required Qualifications:
- Administrative support and/or receptionist experience.
- Working knowledge and proficiency with computer functions such as word-processing, excel spreadsheets and email.
- Experience using Macintosh computers.
- Must have a flexible, customer-oriented approach, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, office organization skills, and time management skills.
- Must enjoy working in a dynamic environment that includes constant interaction with students, supporting the department's faculty, and interpreting policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency working with Banner.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs.
- Proficient in developing, maintaining, and manipulating Excel spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated proficiency working with course scheduling.
