Facilities Office Manager

Position Summary:
The Facilities Office Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administrative, fiscal, and building operations for Latham Hall, under the guidance of the Director of College Facilities, along with providing support for the extensive and growing facilities portfolio of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, consisting of numerous buildings on campus, in the surrounding local campus farms, and at 11 Agricultural Research and Extension Centers statewide. Duties include, but are not limited to, financial, facilities, administrative support and building support for the Director. The successful applicant will be the primary point-of-contact for Latham Hall occupants in regards to general building-related issues. Expected to perform tasks and duties in accordance with university policies and procedures and in compliance with civil rights requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in applicable discipline or equivalent level of training and experience in administration, business administration or similar course work; Self-motivated, responsible, able to resolve or interpret policies, maintain confidentiality, prioritize, and work independently while performing multiple tasks; Proficiency in the use of personal computers for word processing, report preparation, database management, spreadsheet applications, electronic mail, and the internet; Strong communication skills and experience cooperating with a diverse clientele base and with co-workers: Eagerly assist the public with a high level of customer service. Demonstrated ability to process administrative materials in a confidential manner.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree; Previous experience with Banner, HokieMart and other university computer-based systems; Experience in facilities management, building maintenance or construction trades, especially in a research or laboratory environment; Understanding of farming and agricultural operations, equipment and management; Ability to read or interpret construction plans and maps, as well as prepare graphical illustrations using Autodesk, Bluebeam, GIS or other graphics software.
