Assistant Professor in Medieval and Early Modern Europe - Tenure Track, Departm

Faculty Employment Opportunity
POSITION:
The History Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Medieval and
Early Modern Europe. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses,
maintaining active research and scholarship, and performing department, college and university
service. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop new courses in a primary area of
specialization. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates with
some expertise in imperial history. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate courses in
World Civilizations, Ancient Mediterranean, Medieval and Early Modern European History, and
graduate courses in the candidate's area of specialization.

MINIMUM
Qualifications:

Ph.D. in History or related discipline, with scholarly emphasis on the Early Modern and Medieval
periods of European history. Competence to teach Ancient Mediterranean history. Evidence of
teaching effectiveness.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship and
evidence of a strong commitment to student success.
