The Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University in Long Island, New York seeks to enhance its roster of distinguished faculty through the recruitment of a senior or junior faculty with a background in Addictions and/or Severe Psychopathology with a start date of late August 2018.
This exciting opportunity is a tenure track assistant/associate/full professor level position with experience in an area related to research and treatment of the addictions. We expect the successful candidate to demonstrate EITHER an established program of research or the potential for establishing a successful program of research in addiction broadly defined. Strong candidates will also have an interest in initiating and guiding undergraduate and graduate student research, and in creating interdisciplinary collaboration with clinical faculty. The successful applicant will be expected to teach courses in addiction, psychopathology, and other courses related to the expertise of the candidate in the different programs that we have at Derner.

The Derner School of Psychology ( derner.adelphi.edu ) offers an APA approved PhD in clinical psychology, a new PsyD in School Psychology, Master's degrees in general psychology, school psychology, and mental health counseling, post graduate programs, as well as a popular undergraduate psychology major and a recently developed undergraduate neuroscience major.
