ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, RD-IT SERVICES, Resource Development-Information Technology (RD-IT), to manage an embedded, specialized service desk function and a team of five in support of a broad range of complex information resources, systems, and business processes for Resource Development and other advancement staff at MIT. Will develop a culture that ensures efficient, professional, and client-focused maintenance and support, including investigation, diagnosis, escalation/resolution, recovery, and communication; develop and manage to service-level objectives; monitor service desk trends and identify areas that might require user education or outreach; make recommendations for user technology procurement to the RD-IT management team; and oversee a variety of technology deployment projects; manage projects independently or in partnership with other team leaders; manage the team as project resources, leveraging individual technical or business expertise and deploying as needed.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; five years' IT experience and relevant technical experience supporting a variety of business applications, desktop and mobile technologies, business processes, enterprise systems, databases, and/or CRMs; one year of experience managing staff; proven leadership ability, preferably in a service desk environment; experience using scripting languages and/or Structured Query Language (SQL); strong diagnostic and analytical skills; initiative; ability to manage a high work volume; tact and good judgment with confidential information; excellent communication skills; ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships in a team-oriented atmosphere and provide strong customer service for all organizational technology needs; and working knowledge of current technologies and willingness to learn about new technologies and take on new challenges. Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field preferred. Job #15385-P
