Customer Services Office Assistant - Hourly

Title Position Reports To : Manager of Customer Services (Technical Support) - This hourly position is max 20 hours per week.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Customer Services Office Assistant is an entry level, hourly position in a fast paced technical support helpdesk. Responsible for being knowledgeable about all events and departments throughout each of the campus locations. In this position you will provide general office support across the entire customer services organization. This hourly position is max 20 hours per week. Work start times days of week may vary depending on seasonal workloads.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and maintain scheduling of all customer services staff including HelpDesk, 3D Studio and Telephone Services. (FT, PT and students)
Answering a variety of inquires promptly concerning general information, complaints, and emergencies as well as directing the calls to the correct department.
Keep updated on all campus events as well as department events throughout the multiple Adelphi University campuses.
Responsible for checking any work orders assigned to telephone services via workorder ticketing system and complete requests thoroughly by updating the administrative system (SAAS).
Monitor web directories and update the Administrative System data to maintain the online Phone Directories.
Update job knowledge needed to learn, grow, and collaborate with the students and employees in Adelphi's community by participating in educational opportunities.
Assist in reporting technology equipment or service complaints and problems by following established procedures; reporting malfunctions.
Utilize current technology including social media to communicate with IT staff and the community at large in a professional and prompt manner.
Create workshop schedules each semester for all technical workshops.
Review and reconcile Customer services financial records.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
Organized and can expedite or complete tasks in a timely manner.
In depth knowledge of the University.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, and Google Apps for Education Suite.
Goal oriented, motivated and outgoing character.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Flexibility with working hours required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May require frequent time on the phone, sitting, and typing for extended periods.
