Assistant Director for Assessment

Title Position Reports To : Director for Assessment & Accreditation
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the collection, compilation and synthesis of all School program data including dispositions, key assessments, student tracking, work samples, and portfolios for purposes of candidate and program evaluation for the School of Education including CAEP , ASHA and for Title II reporting purposes. The Assistant Director functions as the School's Data 360 Liaison for internal reporting purposes and Title II Coordinator for external accountability purposes.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Reports to the Ruth S. Ammon SOE Director for Assessment & Accreditation; supports the work of the Director including running analyses, preparing draft reports, assist with planning for SOE semester retreat days; represents the Director at meetings and functions as appropriate.
Unit, Program and Accreditation Data Management:
Manages unit and program data collection and organization for CAEP and Specialized Professional Association Reports (currently 16 programs across 20 content areas)
Generates program data reports every semester for program analysis and continuous improvement (Key Assessments, Graduate Exit Survey, etc.)
Handle all incoming data files from NYSED test scores for the SOE.
Serves as Live Text (electronic portfolio and assessment system) unit liaison and administrator
Supports unit and program need for data collection, processing and reporting.
Responds to individual requests from program faculty, department chairs, and SOE offices for data analysis and reports
Prepares evidence (data sets, table and graphs) for accreditation exhibits and unit reports
Reports:
Prepares the twice yearly Title II reports including verifying all data for accuracy.
Prepares regular reports each semester for the Dean and chairs on student/candidate GPA, GRE, PRAXIS, and all NYSTCE certification test results.
Committee Membership:
Ex officio Member of the following Committees
SOE Assessment Committee (provide reports, prepares minutes)
Other Committee as needed
Liaison Work: Serves as the School of Education's administrative staff liaison for:
University Office of Research Assessment and Planning (Accreditation and Data Management)
Office of Information Technology (Accreditation and Data Management)
Office of Registrar (Accreditation and Data Management)
Serves as the Data 360 Liaison for the School with IT to ensure reports are accurate and useable for all SOE reporting purposes including Title II and CAEP annual report. Provides on-going training to RSA SOE staff and faculty in the use of Data 360.

REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail
Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Excellent computer skills for using Windows 2013, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs & willingness to learn new software.
Analytical skills; Experience with Statistics a must (recent graduate course work or work equivalent)
Prefer candidates with knowledge of research methodology (course work or equivalent work experience)
Prefer candidates with experience with research writing (literature reviews, data analysis and results)

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. required, some graduate work preferred
