The incumbent must be eligible for appointment on the tenure track and possess a proven track record of pursuing extramural funds. The successful candidate will also hold a faculty position in a relevant department, which will include participation in the clinical, research, or educational missions. The academic department will be determined based on the incumbent's academic qualifications and area of research.

Job Summary The University of Kentucky is seeking an Associate Director for Clinical and Translational Science, to work closely with the Director of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science. This position will be instrumental in setting and executing institutional priorities and has responsibility for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that seek to maintain and enhance excellence in Clinical and Translational research and research education. Additionally, the Director Designate will bridge the offices of both the Provost and Vice President for Research, with the UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science.
Principal duties include:
Provide leadership for a successful CTSA program. Effectively manage fiscal and human resources for all programs and services in the UK- CCTS , which includes an annual budget of approximately $9.9 Million and oversight of a work force including approximately 115 employees, whose salaries are completely or partly underwritten by grant funding.
Provide leadership in developing, nurturing and sustaining collaborative relationships with CCTS partner schools, colleges, and organizations, as well as institutions with CTSA hubs nationwide.
Represent the UK- CCTS regionally and nationally.
Continue an independent federally funded clinical and translational research program.
Participate in relevant clinical care activities within a College of Medicine department (e.g. Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, OB-Gyn, or Surgery).
Participate in department, university, community and professional service activities appropriate to the faculty rank.
