Banquet Server

Position Summary:
The Inn at Virgina Tech & Skelton Conference Center is seeking applicants with table side server experience to fill wait staff positions in Banquets for large groups. Responsibilities include performing the duties of set up, service and clean up. Must be able to balance time between meeting guests needs as well as working with kitchen staff to provide quick and accurate turn around time. Possess knowledge of food, alcohol and wine menus. Must be able to work in conjunction with other servers, bartenders, and managers as a team to address critical situations and provide exceptional customer service.

Required Qualifications:
Hotel or restaurant server experience including set up, service and clean up; strong customer service skills and the ability to handle customer problems, complaints and diffuse tense situations; ability to understand and follow instructions; must be able to work effectively within a team; must be available to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Payment Card Industry requirements as it applies to cash and credit card handling; knowledge of food, alcohol, specialty drinks and wine menus as well as TIPS training.
