Open Rank, Tenure Track in French Studies

The French & Francophone Studies Program at Bucknell University invites applications for a full-time, open rank, tenure-track position in French studies, with a specialization in Francophone Sub-Saharan African or North-African literatures and cultures, beginning August 2018. We seek a teacher-scholar with a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in French or Francophone studies or a closely related field by the start of the appointment. Candidates should demonstrate native or near-native fluency in French and excellence in undergraduate teaching of language and literature or cultural studies to a diverse student body. The successful candidate will develop a strong body of scholarship in his/her field of specialization. An interest in developing general education courses for the College of Arts & Sciences is also highly desirable.

Applicants should submit a cover letter (addressed to Nathalie Dupont, Associate Professor and Director of French & Francophone Studies), a CV, a statement that addresses their experience and potential as a teacher, a statement of scholarly goals, and three letters of recommendation.
