Position Summary:
The Building Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs to the interior building and equipment of The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center. Duties will include work in the areas of electrical, carpentry, painting, refrigeration, plumbing, heating and cooling and snow/ice removal.

Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated skills in building maintenance trades
- Training or experience in a variety of trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, refrigeration, and heating/air conditioning
- Working knowledge of related hand and power tools
- Ability to understand, interpret and follow procedures, blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and specifications
- Ability to safely move and handle 50 pounds
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Related training, certification and/or experience in building maintenance
- Related Journey/Master Card(s)
- Experience reading blueprints and/or technical drawings
