Summary of Position For nearly 50 years, the Continuing Studies Program at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University ( KCAD ) in Grand Rapids, MI has offered non-credit art and design-related courses for youth, adults, and professionals in the community. KCAD Continuing Studies Instructors have the artistic knowledge and real-world experience that will improve their student's skills and the way their students think about their own creative potential.
Current teaching assignments are needed for Summer 2018 in our adult/professional program, and youth day camps for the following: innovation (adult/youth/professional), photography (adult/youth/professional), marketing/branding (professional), robotics, stop motion animation (youth), video game design (youth), fashion illustration (youth), sewing (adult/youth), web coding (youth), STEAM (youth) incorporating science, math, technology, engineering, with art. Instructors must be able to create curriculum for these courses as well as teach.

Propose or revise course outlines, descriptions, and supply lists as needed.
Maintain awareness of registrations for upcoming courses by checking Xenegrade website.
Participate in program meetings.
Respond to requests from the Continuing Studies Office in a timely manner.
Create new course proposals as needed.
Recruit and retain future Continuing Studies students.

Represent the program in a positive manner to Continuing Studies students.
Maintain effective communication with Continuing Studies Office, students and/or parents.
Follow KCAD's policies in regards to minors on campus and emergency procedures.
Work collaboratively with KCAD faculty and staff as needed.
Communicate with Continuing Studies Office regarding upcoming courses.
Maintain KCAD's reputation in the community.
