Program Coordinator

Position Summary:
The program coordinator plans and completes communications projects for the Office of Economic Development, including, but not limited to, writing news stories and blog posts, producing videos about office projects and staff, taking photos, maintaining the office website, blog, and social media, and assisting colleagues with design and branding of marketing materials. Functions as an integral member of the OIA communicator team, which meets monthly to coordinate communications work and meet the vice president's goals outlined in the vice president's communications plan. They will also assist the director with the coordination of the ongoing multi-regional GO Virginia program. Occasional travel may be required.

Required Qualifications:
Experience providing programmatic support duties; website content management experience; experience working with Google products, such as Google Maps and Google Drive; demonstrated proficiency with current office computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, desktop publishing, and Adobe Creative Suite or Creative Cloud programs; excellent communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, English, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field or equivalent training and/or experience; graphic design experience; experience working with content management systems, such as WordPress and/or Ensemble; experience completing large projects independently or with a team; experience reviewing and editing a variety of documents such as web-based articles, and literature reviews/research; experience writing and editing reports, marketing literature, and news articles.
