Administrative Assistant

Position Summary:
Serve as administrative assistant to the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs in the Pamplin College of Business at the National Capital Region. Performs a broad range of administrative duties as required to maintain office functionality. Directs the daily operations of the Office of the Dean. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the Dean's anticipated needs. Treats all conversations and information confidentially to help create and maintain a feeling of integrity when dealing with faculty, staff and clients. Serves as the key liaison between the Dean and the Virginia Tech administration.

Required Qualifications:
Previous administrative and or program support experience; proficiency with current office computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets and database applications; must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills; ability to work with the public; ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work collaboratively with others; highly organized.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or Associates degree or equivalent training; very strong experience with Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel; advanced experience working with retrieving information and consolidating data using Banner System for course and enrollment data; experience processing financial transactions using HokieMart and generating reports; experience working with budgets and providing fiscal support; working knowledge of university academic, fiscal and operational policies and procedures.
