The Aerospace Department at Middle Tennessee State University ( MTSU ) is seeking qualified applicants for an assistant/associate professor, clinical-track faculty position (#114260). Start date for the position is August 1, 2018.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in the professional pilot and/or maintenance management concentrations, undertake collaborative and multi-disciplinary research within the department and university, and be actively involved in university and professional service. The MTSU Aerospace Department offers undergraduate degrees in six concentrations (Aviation Management, Flight Dispatch, Maintenance Management, Professional Pilot, Aerospace Technology, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operations), a graduate degree in Aeronautics, and is comprised of 15 faculty, 775 undergraduate majors, and 40 graduate students.

Required Education
Terminal degree close to completion in Aerospace, Aviation or closely related field considered. Candidate may be hired with the understanding that terminal degree completion will take place no later than one year from the date of hire. Master's degree in Aerospace, Aviation or closely related field by appointment date along with two (2) years directly related teaching or industry experience may stand in lieu of a terminal degree.

1) FAA Commercial, Multi-Engine and valid Flight Instructor Certificates ( CFI , CFII , MEI )
OR
2) FAA ATP Certificate and valid Flight Instructor Certificates ( CFI , CFII , MEI ).
OR
3) FAA A&P Certificate

Other Desirable
Candidates who possess industry or collegiate teaching experience and those with a doctorate or ABD in Aerospace, Aviation, Education, Business, or other industry-related field will receive special consideration.
