Middle Tennessee State University, Department of Educational Leadership invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position (#115160) at the rank of assistant/associate professor in Library Science. Position begins August 1, 2018.

The Master of Library Science program is taught completely online and the applicant must possess experience using technology effectively in online instruction. Must be a Tennessee resident by appointment date to qualify.

Curriculum responsibilities include teaching and developing graduate level, distance-education courses in Librarianship and Information Literacy. The candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and the community.

The successful applicant will advise students, develop curriculum, promote program growth and diversity initiatives, supervise field experiences, complete program assessments, and assist in the groundwork for accreditation.

Collaborative and multi-disciplinary research within the department and university is required with a strong knowledge of current research and best practices in the field of expertise. The candidate must be actively involved in university and professional service.

Required Education
ALA -accredited master's degree in Library Science by appointment date.

Required Related Experience
Recent professional, full-time work experience of at least three years in academic, special, or public libraries.

Required License/Registration/Certification
Other Desirable
Candidates experienced with digital resources, user services, or library management will be given special consideration as will those with teaching experience in online programs.

Candidates who posses a PhD in Library Science or closely related discipline (completed or in progress) will receive special consideration as well as those with broad experience across library types and functions within libraries and those with three (3) years teaching graduate courses at the university level.
