Full/Part Time Status:Part Time Service Schedule:Spring Semester

Position Description:

The Department of Geography at University of Northern Iowa seeks a temporary instructor to teach one section of Geographic Information Systems I (GEOG 3310) for the Spring 2018 semester. The section is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:45pm. GEOG 3310 provides students with a basic understanding of the concepts and issues underpinning geographic information science including the functional components of GIS, spatial data models and structures, management of geographic information, the implementation of GIS, and use of GIS software for solving spatial problems. The course includes lectures and computer lab sessions.

Education Requirements:

Masters degree in geography, the natural sciences or social sciences.

Required Qualifications:

Successful candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge of GIS systems and ESRI products including ArcGIS, ArcCatalog and ArcScene.

Desirable Qualifications:

Previous teaching experience is preferred.
