Microbiologist – Assistant Professor of Biology

The Department of Biology at Lander University, a public comprehensive university in the Upstate region of South Carolina, is comprised of a cohesive and forward-thinking faculty who deliver an outcomes-based curriculum that has been carefully aligned with the goals of the AAAS Vision and Change initiative.  

Our department is poised to hire a tenure-track assistant professor position with broad training in microbiology. Teaching responsibilities include: 200-level microbiology course aimed at students in the Nursing program and related health tracks, human anatomy and human physiology, and the possibility of developing a course related to one’s specialty. The ideal candidate will share our passion for student-centered learning and innovative teaching practices. The candidate is also expected to maintain an undergraduate research program. The position will begin August 2018.

Minimum qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Microbiology or a related field and demonstrable aptitude for teaching biology at the college level. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
