The Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Rhode Island seeks to hire a full-time academic year lecturer with demonstrated teaching experience in the field of pharmaceutics for the spring of 2018. This is a one-year position with anticipated renewal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Teach introductory pharmaceutics courses according to departmental curricular needs.
Teach and/or coordinate pharmaceutics laboratory courses according to departmental curricular needs.
Supervise graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants in pharmaceutics laboratory courses.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED :

1. Ph.D., Pharm.D. or equivalent degree in the field of pharmaceutics or a related scientific discipline.

2. Teaching experience at the college level in pharmaceutics or a related scientific discipline.

3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

4. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

5. Demonstrated proficiency in time management and organization skills.

6. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

PREFERRED :

1. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development.

2. Demonstrated experience developing and/or supervising laboratory courses.

3. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in teaching and instruction.

4. Demonstrated understanding of state and federal regulation relating to compounding and manufacturing.
