Duties and Responsibilities
Loyola University Chicago ( LUC ), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting August 2018, pending final approval of funding. The Department, located on Loyola s Lakeshore campus, has approximately 300 undergraduate majors and 50 graduate students in its Masters Program and contributes to LUC s interdisciplinary Psychology of Crime and Justice Minor, Sociolegal Studies Minor, Computer Crime and Forensics Minor, Forensic Science Program, Women s Studies and Gender Studies Program, Urban Studies Program, and Peace Studies Program. The Department consists of ten full-time and approximately fifteen part-time faculty members. Department faculty have a wide range of research interests and are involved with criminal justice agencies, conducting a variety of research projects at the local and national levels. The Department also houses the University s Center for Criminal Justice Research, Policy, and Practice a university-wide Center of Excellence. Successful applicants will have the ability to teach courses on a variety of criminal justice topics at the undergraduate and graduate levels and demonstrate a clear potential for excellence in research and teaching, and have a record of (or clear potential for) distinguished scholarship, grant-funded research, and student mentorship.

Qualifications
Candidates for the position must hold a Ph.D. in criminology, criminal justice, or a related field (sociology, political science, psychology, etc.). The area of expertise is open.
