Description/Job Summary
Overview of position:
  1. Lecturing class participants on Information Technology topics including computer software and hardware and networking
  2. Administering written and practical drills and exams
  3. Collaborating with curriculum developer and subject matter experts to determine teaching style and understanding of curriculum
  4. Participating in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to training faculty and integrating that information into training programs
  5. Evaluating and grading students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers
  6. Maintaining student grades and attendance and reporting student progress to responsible staff weekly
  7. Evaluating students and reporting academic concerns when warranted by classroom performance
  8. Managing all classroom issues and communicating with training coordinator any non-manageable classroom issues
  9. Collecting, maintaining, and analyzing student documents and lab experiences
  10. Staying current with required industry certifications and providing current copies of certifications as requested
Employees in this classification receive supervision form the Director of Workforce Health Care and Business Services
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Information Systems
  • Minimal 2 years' teaching experience
  • Knowledge of common computer hardware and software; network administration, network security, Windows and Linux Services, Cisco, VoIP, and SAN architecture
  • Industry Certification in the course concentration
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the content materials both theory and principle
  • Must have knowledge and experience in applyuing adult learning priniples
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to identify, critically think, and problem solve during emergent and daily interactions with students, colleagues, and client's staff at off-site locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a community college setting preferred
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment preferred
