To provide support to the University's computing environment through technical knowledge of systems and the development of applications to support the operations of servers, storage, networking and virtual environments.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Extensive knowledge of scripting and programming languages such as bash, batch, PowerShell, python, PHP , java, c/c++ and others. Thorough knowledge of the application development lifecycle including build, release and deployment. Thorough knowledge of public and private cloud environments and associated API's. Some knowledge of Windows and Linux hardware and software support and appropriate system practices. Considerable knowledge of principles, practices and procedures for system and application administration. Basic knowledge of networking protocols and concepts such as TCP , UDP , ARP , DHCP , DNS , SNMP , subnetting, ACL's and firewalls. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to learn and work with new leading edge technologies. Ability to plan work and set priorities.

Level and type of experience
Considerable experience in scripting and/or programming. Considerable experience in the writing and development of applications for the management of enterprise environments. Considerable experience in the automation and orchestration of enterprise environments. Considerable experience in the implementation and management of servers using windows and Linux operating systems. Some experience in the management of virtual server and virtual desktop environments.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Some experience using public/private clouds such as AWS , Azure and Openstack. Some experience administering and enterprise server environment including Windows server, Redhat Linux and/or CentOS servers. Some experience using virtualization technologies such as VMware or Openstack.

Conditions of Employment
40 hour work week Monday-Friday; some evenings and weekends; rotating on call.
This position is designated as sensitive. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the final candidate.

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 57,342
