Coordinator of Disability Services

Coordinator of Disability Services

The Academic Support Center at Medaille College is seeking a full-time professional to provide direct services to students with disabilities. This would include reviewing documentation; providing recommendations of accommodations and services; direct provision of testing services; overseeing all aspects of the note-taking process; conducting presentations at Orientation, Open Houses, and other appropriate college events; and collaborating with other college departments to provide training and services. The Coordinator would develop and implement policies involving academic requirements and responsibilities.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Student Personnel/Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Special Education or related field; Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting; experience in assessing, implementing, and overseeing accommodation plans in an educational setting in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines is preferred. Successful candidates should demonstrate effective communication and counseling skills, knowledge of Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities. Experience working with a diverse student population is desired.
