Duties and Responsibilities
Loyola University Chicago s Interdisciplinary Honors Program invites applications for an instructor beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year. This is a non tenure track appointment (3 year, renewable term).

Requirements include a Ph.D. in hand by August 1, 2018. The successful candidate will be principally responsible for teaching our first year seminar the Western Intellectual Traditions. Additional experience teaching a course in American or European Studies is desirable. The first year seminar is a team-taught, interdisciplinary year-long course in Western literature, history, politics, art, theology, and philosophy modeled after great books programs. It consists of a large lecture (3 credit hours) and small discussion sections (3 credit hours); students earn 6 credit hours each semester.

Qualifications
The successful candidate would participate in offering some of the lectures depending on his or her areas of expertise and in leading two or more of the discussion sections each semester.
