Front End Developer

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the front-end developer will be responsible for the Pamplin College of Business public facing web presence. The front-end developer will collaborate with stakeholders, writers, and others to create accessible, clean, well-functioning front-end code for web and other digital communication. In addition to providing well-functioning code, the position will oversee the creation and curation of web content for both the Pamplin College of Business (pamplin.vt.edu) website as well as the programs and academic departments (*.pamplin.vt.edu) websites. The position holder will lead a team of students to keep information current and relevant. The front-end developer will assist with website changes and priorities using data driven decisions utilizing web analytics.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (or work-related experience) in information technology, multimedia, or web-related field
• Expertise in HTML , CSS , and JavaScript
• Experience applying graphic design and visual presence to website
• Ability to communicate effectively and to work professionally, courteously and independently in a fast-pace environment
• Ability to collaborate with others in the college
• Proven experience with web tools and environments, including enterprise level Content Management Systems
• Knowledge of cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility so that website is accessible from a variety of different environments
• Demonstrated experience in content creation and maintenance of user-friendly, visually-appealing, dynamically-populated websites
• Demonstrated project management skills to complete concurrent projects by desired timeline

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in information technology, multimedia, or web-related field
• Experience with tracking and monitoring website metrics using Google Analytics
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager
• Experience with responsive web design
