Brief Summary:
The History Department of Marist College invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning in August 2018 in African or African Diaspora History with a preference for candidates with a minor field in the Middle East or Islamic World. Area of specialization within each category is open but the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the African Diaspora Program, including mentoring students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities include survey courses, First Year Seminars, an introductory African Diaspora course, and upper-level courses created by the successful candidate. Strong commitment to teaching and scholarship is required.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with the Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment.
